I had the opportunity to do a quick session with Kalemah at her apartment.  We did this mini session right in her living room and dining area. Her living room window was my giant light source.  Although I prefer to shoot with available light, I used a little flash to blow out the wall to give it a high key feel.  I had a whirlwind of a weekend in New York.  I went back home to shoot a wedding, but as you know, every time I’m back in New York, I always find the time to shoot clients, friends and family–my other sessions will be posted later.  I cannot wait to shoot Kalemah’s baby boy when he arrives.  It’s too bad that I won’t be there for the baby shower tomorrow, but as they say, I will be there in spirit.

This is the first image I digitally tweaked.  When I sent it to Kalemah, she loved it!  It’s not the typical portrait for her.  I’m so happy she like it as much as I did.  This image was taken in front of the same wall as the above–I just added my own digital blend to it to make it more colorful.
This image is entitled “Motherhood”.  I think this is our favorite of the entire shoot.  This image was taken on Kalemah’s sofa that was draped with a black sheet.  Working on location has challenges, but once you find the “light” and that little spot — look at what can happen!
